Botrytis Semillon 2008

Botrytis Semillon 2008

Went to Bottles & Bottles the other day and got a bottle of Botrytis Semillon 2008. Intended to enjoy it on the 17th, but due to unforeseen circumstances, had to delay it until yesterday.

I had requested for a recommendation on dessert wine, and it didn’t disappoint. Even though we’re not much of a wine connoisseur, we found it to be pretty refreshing and easy to drink with just the right level of sweetness.

Well, guess I really should attend some wine appreciation classes eh? Meanwhile, any wine to recommend?

Extracted from Perdeberg Winery FAQs :

RS is the residual sugar that affects taste. According to industry regulations a wine can only be classified as being dry, off-dry sweet, semi-sweet etc if its RS is between certain grades.

pH is a measure of the acid present in wine. It affects the ability of wine to be able to be stored as well as the stability of colour in red wines. Wines with high pH (weak acidity) do not age well.

T.A. is a measure of the total acidity of a wine; T.A. should be around 5.5-7g/l for white wines and 5-5.8g/l for red wines.
