Penang Road Nightlife [Malaysia]

Looking for a place to drink? Along Upper Penang Road is a selection of cafes (including Who’s Bryan), pubs and clubs located at a row of fully restored shophouses.

Glancing down from our hotel block at Eastern & Oriental Hotel, we get a good view of the shophouses during daytime.

Nothing much is open during the day. Walking along this stretch of shophouses, one could be mistaken that there is nothing here at all. Kind of reminds me of Clarke Quay and Boat Quay along Singapore River?

At one end is a cafe called Who’s Bryan Coffee & Cuisine that opens from the afternoon till late.

We popped by twice to get a break from the local cuisine and took some photos along the way.

Aglio-Olio Seafood Spaghetti. Al dente and spicy – just the way we like it!

Grilled Tiger Prawns (5 pieces).

Zing Wings (5 pieces). Always can’t resist an order of delicious fried chicken wings no matter where we are.

Blueberry Cheesecake and Mocha for afternoon tea.

During night-time, the entire stretch of shophouses comes alive – check out all the lights! Tables and chairs are set up, and staff would ask you if you’ll like to stop for a drink. Time to partaaaaaaaaaaay!
