Here we are, it is all about the Chendul once again. Apparently, the Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul along Jalan Penang is the “head stall” or what you’ll call the original branch. There is in fact another branch just 5-minutes walk away.
This one has a cafe concept, which means they sell food as well.
Tried a couple of things here over two days. While the assam laksa here tasted really good as well, I felt that the Jooi Hooi Cafe one packed a little bit more punch.
This is chee cheong fun in curry gravy. A result of ordering something off the menu, assuming that it is what we’re familiar with. Oops.
Rojak! Much better than the one at Red Garden Food Paradise.
Yes yes, the famous Teochew Chendul. Nice and cooling which was great for the hot weather. Chendul isn’t really my cup of tea – maybe the missus will have something different to say about this?
Ice-Kachang! Seemed exactly the same as the ones we have here in Singapore.
If Jalan Penang is too crowded for you (as it was for us on the first day), head over to Komtar Walk to satisfy your cravings!
